A New Method to Fight Type 2 Diabetes

A new method to fight obesity and type 2 diabetes — endobarrier

Endobarrier is a new progressive medical procedure for the fight against obesity and type 2 diabetes, in which an elastic synthetic tube is inserted into the patient’s duodenum endoscopically. The main purpose of this medical device is to partially block the access of nutrients to the human body. The tube is about 60 centimeters long.

After its installation, the assimilation of food begins to occur in the stomach and then only in the small intestine. This alters the body’s metabolism, contributing to the patient’s weight loss and the normalization of his blood glucose levels.

The procedure for installing an implant is remotely similar to a gastroscopic examination; it is performed on an outpatient basis and lasts no more than an hour.

In its medical sense, the Endobarrier installation is similar to the classical gastric bypass surgery, however, it has a number of significant advantages over it, such as:

  • safe minimally invasive intervention, in which neither the structure of the gastrointestinal tract nor the peculiarities of its functioning changes in any way, no scars remain;
  • low cost.

After achieving the desired result, the tube is removed.

Important! As with any medical device or procedure, the Endobarrier installation has contraindications.

The Endobarrier installation procedure is used in medical clinics in Israel and helps to fight a whole range of diseases and abnormalities: type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, fatty degeneration of the liver, metabolic and lipid metabolism disorders. The operation takes place without hospitalization of the patient, completely outpatient. The entire procedure takes place without anesthesia and no surgical incisions are made.

Specialists use a special endoscope to introduce the Endobarrier into the stomach and then install it at the entrance to the duodenum, fixing it with metal anchors that prevent the tube from sliding into the lower intestine.

After installing the Endobarrier, all patients literally immediately notice improvements in their condition, the glucose level decreases, and excess weight begins to decrease.

After completing the course, the Endobarrier is removed in a similar manner to the installation.

The positive therapeutic effect persists even after tube removal, and the risk of diabetes recurrence remains very low.

In addition to installing the Endobarrier, to achieve the best effect, doctors also select a special diet for patients with a low carbohydrate content, to lower glucose levels, and also recommend adjusting their lifestyle.
